RUNNING EXERCISE SELECTION AND PROGRESSION
RUNNING EXERCISE SELECTION AND PROGRESSION
10 CEUs
Proper exercise selection is the cornerstone of running physiotherapy. With this in mind, The Pace Academy has created the Running Exercise Selection and Progression course. Building on the evaluation techniques learned in Running Foundations, this course takes a deep dive into focused exercise selection and progression for the running athlete.
An expert physio needs to take the information gleaned from an in-depth analysis and create an actionable and progressive rehabilitation plan to improve injury resilience (pre-hab) or return from injury (rehab). During the Running Exercise Selection and Progression course, attendees will learn a hierarchical approach to exercise selection that guides prioritization and progression of exercise for the running athlete. What can feel complex and overwhelming becomes clear and focused within this framework.
This lab-intensive course follows a learn by doing approach. Attendees will be exposed to time-proven exercise clusters that address common dysfunctions. However, this course is not a cookbook rehabilitation course. Rather, these clusters create the backbone of (p)rehabilitation for runners. From there, instructors will challenge critical thinking to determine the optimal stacking of exercise and progressions to maximize results.
Upon completion of this course, attending physiotherapists will understand how to select, refine, and progress (p)rehab to be specific to the needs of each of their athletes. Furthermore, they will leave with critical understanding of how to creatively challenge both healthy and injured runners in order to improve overall durability and resiliency to running.
